Church Council Update
“A big thankyou to all who participated in the vote following the AGM in November 2023 for Michael Widderich to remain on Church Council whilst performing the financial admin tasks for our church. The result was a majority in favour of agreeing for this dual function to occur. Michael has now begun performing financial duties which are instrumental for the daily functioning of our church. We are grateful for the commitment of all the members of the congregation who perform essential roles within the church.” Sarah (Church Council Chairperson) |

Support For Our Missionaries
You can support our missionary family, the Hutchings, in many ways - prayer, finances, practical help. One of the simple and free ways to help is to return your empty cans, bottles and cartons (particulary those with the '10c Refund' labels) to Church and Sue will transform them into 'gold' (or the next best thing, cash).
Like everywhere else, prices in the mission field have increased, particulatly the cost of getting people and supplies in and out of remote areas using helicopters (and with kids getting bigger each year the cost is ballooning).
Note: The Hutchings family hope to be visiting us in person on March 3. |

Finance Update
Church Council is tracking our financial health by monitoring our bank account 'Reserve'. The Reserve is the amount of ‘unallocated’ money in our account that could be used if and when unforeseen events occur. It also helps to smooth out short periods where our spending exceeds our income. Ideally this would be approximately 8 weeks of expenses. The graphic above shows the trends in our Reserve, our Income and our Spending for the last three 6-month periods - June to Dec 2022, Jan to July 2023, July to Dec 2023. As the graphic shows, over the past 18 months our income has decreased. From $17,500/mth to $12,166/mth. Also our spending has decreased and then increased. From $17,000/mth to $14,500/mth. Thus currently our spending is regularly outstripping our income and so our Reserves have fallen to less than 50% of our ideal. Church Council is now looking at a number of options to turn this position around, with your help. |
